Physical Facilities

Government General Degree College, Nakashipara, is committed to providing a conducive learning environment through quality infrastructure that supports academic and co-curricular excellence.

Campus and Buildings:
The college is spread across 5 acres and consists of two primary buildings:

  • The Main Building, which houses academic and administrative sections.

  • The Student Activity Centre, dedicated to extracurricular and co-curricular activities.

Classrooms and Laboratories:

  • The institution offers 14 theoretical classrooms.

  • There are 7 science laboratories, including:

    • Chemistry: 3 separate labs for Physical, Inorganic, and Organic Chemistry, along with a chemical storeroom.

    • Physics: 3 labs covering Optics, Electronics, and General experiments.

    • Mathematics: A computer lab with 15 computers.

Sports and Recreation:
The college has a well-maintained playground. The College organizes a sports meet every year. Facilities for indoor games such as chess and carrom are also available.

Cultural Facilities:

  • An ICT-enabled auditorium hall is used for various cultural and academic events.

  • Cultural programs are also held on a temporary open-air stage within the campus. The annual cultural festival is a prominent event held here.

Library as a Learning Resource

The college library is a cornerstone of academic support, partially automated using KOHA ILMS (v23.05.10.000) since 2020, and moving toward full automation. The Web OPAC is accessible online: http://34.70.201.32:92/.

IT Infrastructure

The college actively enhances its IT infrastructure to support modern education and administration.

  • High-speed LAN and Wi-Fi (70–100 Mbps) powered by Alliance Broadband.

  • CCTV Surveillance with 28 cameras ensures campus security.

  • Online classroom platforms like Google Meet and Zoom are used for teaching and webinars.

  • The college website is regularly updated for academic, administrative, and NAAC-related announcements.

Digital Resources and Automation:

  • Online processing of student activities: registration, form fill-up, admit cards, mark sheets, and result uploads.

  • 27 computers on campus, with 24 for student use and 3 for administrative tasks.

  • Auditorium equipped for virtual classes and online sessions.
