Library

The Library system of Govt. General Degree College, Nakashipara consists of one central library and eight (8) seminar libraries (Departmental Libraries). The central library is situated on the ground floor of the north side of the college building, covering approximately 2000 sq. ft., arranged and decorated properly. It comprises books, journals, and other relevant documents.

The entire library area is divided into several sections, including the stack room, career guidance and reading room section, circulation section, technical processing section, and library membership section. It is fully air-conditioned and maintains both open and closed access systems. The library is monitored by four CCTV cameras for surveillance.

Library membership:

Library membership is open to students, faculty members, and supporting staff. Alumni and ex-employees may access the college library facilities subject to permission from the Librarian.

Library rules and regulations:

  • An Honors student can borrow four (4) books; a student from the Program course can borrow two (2) books.
  • Books must be returned within two (2) weeks from the date of issue.
  • Faculty members can borrow up to twenty (20) books for 30 to 60 days for academic activities.
  • Support staff members can borrow two (2) books at a time for 30 days (home issue).
  • Alumni and ex-employees do not have borrowing privileges but can read books, journals, and other documents within the central library premises.

Library Resources:

The central library contains books, reference books, journals, magazines, newspapers (both English and Bengali), maps, and pen drives (for recorded lectures), among other resources.
