Library

The Library system of Govt. General Degree College, Nakashipara consists of one central library and eight (8) seminar libraries (i.e. Departmental Libraries). The central library is situated at the ground floor of north site of college building with an area of approx 2000 sq.ft. and properly arranged and decorated. Central library comprises of books and journals and other relevant documents.

The entire area of the Library is divided into several sections which include - stack room, carrier guidance and reading room section, circulation section, technical processing section and library membership section. It is fully air-conditioned and both open and closed access library systems are being maintained. The library is under CCTV surveillance with four cameras.

Library membership:

The library membership of the college is open for the students, faculty members and supporting staffs. However, the alumni as well as Ex-employees can have access to the college library facilities subject to permission from the Librarian.

Library rules and regulations:

• An Honors student can borrow four (4) books and a student from the Program course can borrow two (2) books.
• The books are to be returned within two (2) weeks from the date of issue.
• Faculty members can borrow maximum twenty (20) books for 30 to 60 days for their personal academic activities.
• Support staff members can borrow two (2) books at a time for 30 days to home issue.
• Alumni and ex-employees don’t have borrowing facility; however they can read books, journals, and other documents within central library premises.

Library Resources:

The central library contain books, reference book, journals, magazine, newspapers (both English and Bengali), maps, pen-drive (for recorded lecture) etc.
