When the College started its journey back in 2014, it got eight academic departments. Chemistry was one of them. At the beginning, Chemistry Department was only meant for B.Sc Pass course students. Soon afterwards, the Department was upgraded and in 2016, the Department got its first batch of Honours Course Students. At present the intake capacity is 40 and four full-time teachers are there. There are three laboratories -one for each of the three major segments of Chemistry – Inorganic, Organic and Physical. The laboratories are well-equipped with plenty of glassware and chemicals, a gas pipeline and all the necessary instruments required at this level. A small portion of the Department is dedicated to seminar library where students could read, interact and exchange ideas among themselves.
Over-all, the students of Chemistry Department have been able to produce good results in their final year University Examinations and many of them went on to pursue their higher studies in notable Institutions across the country and even in abroad.
