About the Department

The Department of Physics, Government General Degree College Nakashipara was established in the year 2016, one year after the establishment of the college itself. It has three permanent faculties Dr. Sourav Karar, Mr Nasiruddin Ahamamed, and Dr Sayan Das. Dr. Sourav Karar and Mr Nasiruddin Ahamamed were appointed from the beginning with the establishment of the college while Dr Sayan Das joined in 2018.
Equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories and facilities, the department offers a robust curriculum that blends theoretical learning with practical application. Students here engage in hands-on experiments and computer simulation. There are three experimental laboratories in the department out of which two are exclusively for experiments on electronics and optics. A well equipped computer lab is dedicated for running various numerical problems and simulations related to the curriculum.

SWAYAM PRABHA is a group of 34 DTH channels devoted to telecasting of high-quality educational programmes on 24X7 basis using the GSAT-15 satellite. Every day, there will be new content for at least (4) hours which would be repeated 5 more times in a day, allowing the students to choose the time of their convenience. The channels are uplinked from BISAG, Gandhinagar. The contents are provided by NPTEL, IITs, UGC, CEC, IGNOU, NCERT and NIOS. The INFLIBNET Centre maintains the web portal.
