At Government General Degree College, Nakashipara, the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) has been established in accordance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, and the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC). The ICC is responsible for creating a safe and secure working and learning environment for women and ensuring zero tolerance toward sexual harassment on campus.
The ICC consists of a Presiding Officer (a senior woman faculty member), along with faculty members, non-teaching staff, and an external member from an NGO or legal background as per UGC guidelines. This composition ensures independence, diversity, and proper representation in handling complaints.
The ICC ensures that complaints are addressed promptly, fairly, and in accordance with legal procedures. Through its preventive and redressal measures, the ICC upholds the principles of gender equality and dignity in the institution, fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive academic environment for all stakeholders.
